Conditions treated with acupuncture
Acupuncture is used to improve general health, for pain relief, emotional conditions and to prevent future diseases from developing.
The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), which is the organization that provides guidelines to GPs and other health professionals, recommends acupuncture as an effective treatment for low back pain and tension headaches.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) also endorses acupuncture and lists a a wide variety of diseases or disorders for which acupuncture therapy has been tested in controlled clinical trials for which acupuncture has been tested in controlled clinical trials.
